Editing a legacy form

To edit an existing legacy form:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Forms
  2. Ensure you are in the Legacy Forms tab
  3. Select Edit next to the relevant form

Create multiple forms within a single widget by selecting + Add Form’ on the left hand side.

When the form widget is used, the user will be able to select which of these forms they would like to use.

Steps create the pages your user will navigate through when completing the form.

To create a new step:

  1. Click +Step
  2. Provide a name for the step
  3. Select a type
  4. Questions: allows you to add questions for the user to answer
  5. Quote: allows you to define your fees which will be presented to the user
  6. UK Land Tax: provides the default questions needed to calculate Stamp Duty rates
  7. Esignature: allows the user to provide an electronic signature within the form widget

Within each of your steps you’re able to:

  1. Step Name: Edit the name given to the step
  2. Next Button Text: Edit the name given to the the button that leads to the next step
  1. Header Message: Add text that will be displayed at the top of the form
  2. + Question: Add questions to the step
  3. + Paste Question: Paste questions from other steps or form widgets
  1. Select + Question
  2. Provide a Name for your question, which will be presented to the user
  3. Select a response type:
  4. Checkbox: The user will be presented with a checkbox which they can tick or untick
  5. Currency: The user will be presented with a text box which will only accept currency format
  6. Date: The user can provide a date, month and year within 3 dropdown menus
  7. Drop down list: The user will be presented with a drop down list containing your defined options
  8. Fee Earner: The user can select from the names of your Fee Earners within a drop down menu
  1. File Upload: The user can upload documents to the form widget.
  1. Multiselect: The user will be presented with a list of defined options, where they can select more than one as their answer
  2. Number: The user will be presented with a text box which will only accept numbers
  3. Radio: The user will be presented with a list of defined options, where they can only select one as their answer
  4. Text: The user will be presented with a text box which will accept a line of text
  5. Text area: The user will be presented with a text box which will accept a paragraph of text
  1. Include a N ote for the user, to provide guidance or information on the question
  2. Select how you wish for the answer to be saved:
  3. Matter field: provides a list of custom field data markers available on the associated matter template. The data collected in the form widget will be saved back to this custom field.
  4. Contact field: provides a list of contact fields available on your contact cards. The data collected in the form widget will be saved back to this contact field.
  1. Free field: provides the opportunity to input a new data marker. The information will be saved back to the matter but under a ‘No Group’ category.
  1. Do not save: the answer will not be saved
  1. This answer requires an answer: Require the user to provide a response to the question
  2. Validation method: Ensures the user answers the question in a specific format:
  3. Email Address: a valid email address must be entered
  4. Telephone Number: a valid telephone number must be entered

Use the first link on the left hand side of the page to test your form and make sure it works how you expect.

Use rules to create conditions in which users are able to skip certain steps.

To add a rule:

  1. +Add Rule
  2. If Question: Choose the question within the step that will determine the rule
  3. Equals: Provide the answer to the question that will activate the rule
  4. Jump To: Select the Step the user should be directed to if the rule is satisfied
  5. Create
