Roles & permissions
Roles and permissions allow you to define the areas of InTouch a staff member can access and make amendments to.
Changing a Staff Member’s Permissions
Section titled “Changing a Staff Member’s Permissions”- Navigate to Settings > Staff
- Select the relevant staff member
- Roles & Permissions
- Determine their permissions using the relevant checkboxes
- Save
The roles and permissions available are as follows:
- Fee Earner - allows the user to be assigned to matters and forms amongst other permissions
- Supervisor - allows the user to complete tasks which carry the supervisor permission
Matters - Viewing
Section titled “Matters - Viewing”- Can see other teams - allows the user to access and view all matters, regardless of the team the matter’s Fee Earner belongs to
- Can view matters in another team, unless locked - allows the user to access and view any unlocked matters
- Can view locked matters in another team - allows the user to access and view any matter, regardless of whether they are locked
Matters - Unlocking
Section titled “Matters - Unlocking”- Can unlock matters in my team - allows the user to remove locks on any matters assigned to their team
- Can unlock matters in any team - allows the user to remove locks, regardless of the team the matter is assigned to
Matters - Deleting
Section titled “Matters - Deleting”- Delete tasks from matters - allows the user to delete tasks from a matter
- Delete matters - allows the user to delete matters
Contacts
Section titled “Contacts”- Merge contacts - allows the user to merge contacts
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”- Can edit email templates - allows the user to edit email templates
- Can edit document templates - allows the user to edit document templates
- Can edit SMS templates - allows the user to edit SMS templates
- Can edit form widgets - allows the user to edit forms
- Can edit matter templates - allows the user to edit matter templates
- Can edit labels - allows the user to create, edit, merge or delete labels
Reports
Section titled “Reports”- Can view reports - allows the user to access the InTouch reporting suite
Accounts
Section titled “Accounts”- Can approve invoices - allows the user to approve invoices
- Can view accounting reports - allows the user to access the accounts settings and view accounting reports
- Can edit receivable templates - allows the user to edit receivable templates
- Can edit Chart of Accounts - allows the user to edit Chart of Accounts
- Manage Xero connection - allows the user to manage the Xero connection
Administrator
Section titled “Administrator”- Can edit organisation settings - allows the user to edit organisation settings
- Can e dit teams - allows the user to edit teams
- Can e dit staff - allows the user to edit staff
- Can edit custom branding - allows the user to make changes to your custom branding
- View InTouch billing - allows the user to view your InTouch invoices
Integration Permissions
Section titled “Integration Permissions”- Can edit API keys - allows the user to edit your organisations API keys
